The Consequences of Professional Learning Communities on Teacher Professional Development in Oman

Teaching is a complicated profession that involves constant fulfilment of several traits and qualifications for the entire length teacher’s career. Ideally, professional learning communities (henceforth PLC) have potential to boost teacher development TPD). Nevertheless, execution PLC not always implemented as planned. This research aims determine situation consequences these on in some schools Oman. Qualitative using descriptive approach was employed. Document analysis, interviews, observation were triangulated probe development. An intended sample 13 informants participated study. These include teachers, principals, supervisors, policy makers selected from six primary Ministry Education Sultanate The study revealed there are enough training programs supervisors how implement communities. Moreover, principals teachers all heavily burdened with administrative duties impede them focusing developmental implications PLC. Furthermore, lack opportunity input teaching-learning system stumbling block recognition growth. Despite that, offers great growth if right way.
